Amber’s role is to support Nigel with the accounts and act as office manager for Palace Green Homes. She brings a good knowledge of Community Land Trusts to the company, excellent administrative skills and a strong connection to the local region.

When did you start at Palace Green Homes?

I joined the team in April 2022 as Finance Assistant to Nigel, but I’m also undertaking the role of office manager too. However, I have previously worked with Palace Green Homes via East Cambridgeshire Community Housing in 2019, where I was the Community Housing Programme Administrator giving support to the community-led housing technical advisors and local community groups.

What is your career history prior to starting at Palace Green Homes?

I worked in sales and marketing at Newmarket Racecourse for many years. Since leaving the racecourse, I’ve worked for East Cambridgeshire Community Housing and the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority Community Land Trusts (CLTs) by advising the local authorities and local community groups on how to set up CLTs across the region. I also advised the trustees of the CLTs on community engagement and provided administration support.

What’s your favourite thing about working for Palace Green Homes?

Without a doubt the best thing about working here is the people! It’s important to me to have a good relationship with my peers and come to work in a happy environment. Plus, the office is close to my home so I have a better work/life balance with less of a commute.

What’s one thing that lockdown has taught you, relating to your home?

Lockdown taught me how much family time really means to me. I spent a lot of time with my family discovering my local area and found lots of amazing walks right on my doorstep, so I have a better appreciation for where I live now.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself?

I’m a twin! I have a non-identical twin brother named Aaron. We are complete opposites. I am seven minutes older than him!
