When did you start at Palace Green Homes?

I joined Palace Green Homes in November 2017, starting out as a Sales and Customer Service Co-Ordinator. The company was in its initial stages, and I joined to help gear up the first two developments for their completion and sales.

What is your career history prior to starting at Palace Green Homes?

I’ve worked in property throughout my career and started as an Estate Agent with Woolwich Property Services in Newmarket. This then expanded to Cambridge and, after working in Cambridge for a few years, I joined an independent agency in Royston called Thomas Morris.

In early 2000, I moved to work in Sales at TuckerGardner in Cambridge and Histon. I then moved over to Ely to open a new office, where I was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager and then Office Manager. After this role, I moved to Cheffins for six years as an Assistant Manager before joining Palace Green Homes.

My experience spans sales and lettings, which was something I decided to focus my career on from the age of 19 and I’ve trained all the way through. I have achieved the ARLA Qualification for Lettings and I am a member of the NAEA.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Palace Green Homes?

I love seeing our properties and developments evolve from an initial concept all the way through to being a thriving community and home to so many people. Our work sees these plans come to life and that’s really special to us.

The homes we build really are sympathetic to the area. Palace Green Homes focuses on the important aspects of communities; highlighting space, wildlife, families and a sense of community.

I also really enjoy setting up the show homes. Working with our interior designer, Cate at Angel & Blume, the show home looks we create are real and relative to our buyers. It’s really great to see a concept come to life and show prospective buyers how they can make their new house a home.

What’s one thing that lockdown has taught you, relating to your home?

It’s made me realise how important and valuable space really is. Throughout the whole pandemic, I’ve been living in a mobile while we have been building our own home. The timing hasn’t been ideal, however, it’s really shown me how important it is to have space, both inside and around our homes.

It’s given me a huge appreciation for my pets too, as having dogs to walk and horses to look after means I’ve been able to enjoy the countryside and green space so much more than before.

Share one interesting fact about yourself

I am currently building, or rather project managing, my own home. My work in property led me to wanting to build my own house and it’s been great to pull all those ideas and knowledge together.
