What made you choose the King's Row development?

We didn’t intend to buy a property in Ely, but when we saw the homes on Barton Road, we realised it would be the perfect property for our needs.

Our daughter attended King’s Ely, which is located over the road from the development, so we thought we’d take a look around the new development to see if it would be a perfect part-time home for us to use during term-time.

Once we’d viewed the property, which wasn’t quite finished at the time, we knew it was the right choice for us, and we’ve had a lot of use out of it. It’s a delightful apartment and we’re pleased to have a place that can be our daughter’s first home when the time comes.

What stuck out to you most about your new home when viewing it?

We’d been looking at the property from the outside as it was being built, and really liked the design and how Palace Green Homes had landscaped the surrounding area. They really showed lots of thought to the outside garden space, not just the property itself.

When we viewed the inside, we were surprised by how well a top floor apartment worked. It has so much space and storage options and it was really light too. The property was built and designed so nicely, we felt it was the perfect option and so we put an offer on it, which was thankfully accepted.

How have you found living here?

It’s been the ultimate convenience living so close to the centre of Ely. The fact the apartment came with a car parking space was a real selling point too – we knew all too well how busy it can get at weekends in Ely with tourists. I don’t think we’d have got the property if it didn’t include that parking space – it was just another great option that Palace Green Homes had offered.

The apartment is brilliant, it’s so well connected to the train station and the many amenities within Ely.

What has your experience of Palace Green Homes been?

Jo has been fantastic; I really appreciate her communication with us and we never feel like we’re waiting for a reply or update.

As with any new build there has been a few teething problems but every workman or staff member I’ve met has been polite, respectful and efficient. Their quality of work is really high and you can tell that they really care about their work and the people living in their properties.

On our handover day, we really appreciated the level of detail that Jo went into to show us the property and ensure that we felt like we had all the information we needed. Palace Green Homes also left us a really helpful folder, with instruction manuals for appliances, local maps and what was on in the area, emergency contact details, and even the make and colour of the paint used in the property. We’ve felt really welcome and looked after throughout the whole process.

Why did you choose Ely?

Ely is one of the smallest cities in England and has this wonderful market town feel, which we all really love. There’s a lot going on here too, especially with the new pool and cinema complex, and the transport links are great.

We thought long term about wanting to get a home that our daughter could live in when she is ready and Ely was the ideal place. It’s a really great location for working and it’s a safe, beautiful city. The character that it has always possessed hasn’t changed despite its growth.

Would you recommend buying a home from Palace Green Homes?

Yes definitely. Their work to help the local community is really great too, it shows a real consideration for the area. I’m also impressed their developments aren’t just private sale, they offer options to help a range of people live in their properties.
